Understanding and interpreting the art of 21st century is associated with how the fundamental principles and concepts of modern art are positioned. When this chain of relationships is established without denying the fact that the leading movements of art paved the way, today's art will be more understandable. Today's art is regarded as a reflection of the world's reality. For artists, curators and collectors, the art finds meaning and appreciation when it is associated with current issues which represent the social life. Also, the works of art attract attention to the extent they address and criticize local and universal issues. Fictionalizing his works on existing and existed facts and the criticism of these facts with a sense of irony, the Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan is an artist who has made his name in today's art and attracted considerable attention by blending the fundamental principles of 20th century's modern art movements. The artist who does not use coincidence in his works carefully creates both his installations of stuffed animals and his wax sculptures. He offers a specific order of exhibition by carefully selecting the spaces in which such works will gain meaning. These works constitute the examples as the indicators of the current position of art within the frame of the space-organization-meaning relationship. This article emphasized the importance of Cattelan's works in terms of making sense of the current position of today's art and discussed these works with a new perspective in order to establish their relations with other social, political and religious institutions, especially art institutions.
