Abstract:

Abstract This work investigates the trajectory of the Group of Studies and Pedagogical Research in Physical Education (GEPPEF / UFMA) in the area of public policies on sport and leisure, making a critical assessment of its scientific production. A quantitative and qualitative documentary research is carried out in the period from 2005 to 2020, with a total of 73 papers analyzed in the following categories: publication sources, themes, periods, work types and theoretical contribution. There is a predominance of publication of complete papers in annals of national and international events, with thematic prevalence in management and legal order. As for the theoretical contribution, it is verified initially that the works stood out for their epistemological plurality and, more recently, the Group has been basing its research on the assumptions of Dialectical Historical Materialism. It was concluded that GEPPEF points out ways to contribute to the debate on sports and leisure public policies in Maranhão, especially aiming for the realization of these rights.
