Seyyid Ahmed b. Seyyid Zeynî Dahlân (öl. 1303/1886) Osmanlı’nın son döneminde Mekke-i Mükerreme’de doğan önemli âlim ve sûfîlerden biridir. Çok sayıda hocadan ders alan Seyyid Dahlân iyi bir eğitim sürecinden geçmiştir. Ancak ders aldığı hocaları içerisinde en çok istifade ettiği kişi Şeyh Osman b. Hasan ed-Dimyâtî eş-Şâfiî el-Ezherî el-Mekkî (öl. 1265/1849) olmuştur. Hocası ed-Dimyâtî’den zâhiri ilimlerin yanında Halvetiyye, Ayderûsiyye, Kâdiriyye, Nakşibendiyye ve Şâzeliyye tarikatlarının icâzetini de almıştır. Seyyid Dahlân; Mekke Şâfiî müftülüğü, şeyhu’l-ulemâ/reîsu’l-ulemâ’lık gibi önemli vazifelere getirilmiş ve bu görevleri titizlikle yürütmüştür. Eğitime çok önem veren Seyyid Dahlân pek çok talebe yetiştirmiş ve bu uğurda büyük çabalar sarf etmiştir. Seyyid Dahlân’ın yaşadığı dönemde Vehhâbî hareketi Arap yarımadasında siyasi olarak güçlenmiş, akîdevî konularda halkı baskı altına almıştır. Seyyid Dahlân, Vehhâbiler ve diğer oluşumlarla ilmî ve fikrî mücadele içine girerek Ehl-i Sünnet akidesinin önemli savunucularından olmuştur. Tasavvuf, akaid, siyer, tarih ve gramer gibi birçok alanda irili ufaklı pek çok eser telif eden Seyyid Dahlân, kitaplarında tevessül konusunu da işlemiştir. Tevessülün çeşitleri arasında en çok tartışılanı Yüce Allah’a yakın olduğu düşünülen şahıslarla tevessül yapılıp yapılmayacağı mevzuudur. Seyyid Dahlân eserlerinde tevessülün tüm çeşitlerinin caiz olduğunu delilleriyle işlemiş, Müslümanları tevessül inancı üzerinden tekfir edenlerin vahim bir hataya düştüklerini belirtmiştir. Bu çalışmada Seyyid Dahlân’ın hayatı ve eserleri hakkında bilgi verilmiş, daha sonra onun önemli eserlerinden biri olan Hulâsatü’l-kelâm fî beyâni ümerâi’l-beledi’l-harâm’da ele aldığı tevessül konusu incelenmiştir.
Sayyid Ahmad ibn Sayyid Zaynī Dahlān (d. 1303/1886) is one of the most important scholars and Sufīs who was born in Mecca in the last period of the Ottoman Empire. Sayyid Dahlān, who took lessons from many teachers, went through a good education process. However, the person he was most influenced by among the teachers he took lessons from was Sheikh Osman ibn Hasan al-Dimyātī al-Shāfiī al-Azharī al-Makkī (d. 1265/1849). He learned the religious sciences from al-Dimyātī, and also received the ratification of the Halvatiyya, Aidarūsiyya, Qādiriyya, Naqshbandiyah and Shādhiliyya sects from him. Sayyid Dahlān was appointed to important duties such as the Shāfiī Mufti of Mecca and the chief of scholars, and he carried out these duties meticulously. Sayyid Dahlān, who attaches great importance to education, trained many students and made great efforts for this purpose. During the time of Sayyid Dahlān, the Wahhābī movement became politically stronger in the Arabian peninsula and put pressure on the people on issues related to creed. Sayyid Dahlān entered into a scientific and intellectual struggle with the Wahhābīs and other groups, and became one of the important defenders of the Ahl al-Sunnah creed. Seyyid Dahlān, who wrote many books, large and small, in many fields such as Sufīsm, Aqaid, al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah, history and grammar, also dealt with the subject of tawassul in his books. Among the types of tawassul, the most debated issue is whether to make tawassul with righteous people who are thought to be close to Allah. Sayyid Dahlān, in his works, stated that tawassul is permissible with proofs, and stated that those who declare Muslims an unbeliever based on the belief of tawassul are making a big mistake. In this study, information about life and books of Seyyid Dahlān was given, and the subject of tawassul mentioned in one of his important books, Hulāsat al-Kalām Fī Bayān ‘Umarā’ al-Balad al-Harām”, was investigated.
