Abstract:

In this article, the foundations of the integrity of the Qur'an and Sunnah in the Qur'an are discussed and the concept of “wisdom” is emphasized in particular. The word Wisdom (hıkma) has many meanings, one of which is prophecy (nubuvvah) and the other is the Sunnah, which is the application of revelation. Especially from the point of view of the Qur'an, it is not correct to consider and try to understand the Sunnah and the Qur'an independently of each other. After determining that the Sunnah is the second source, its content should be known as well. There are three views on the content of the Sunnah. The first of these is the product of revelation. The second is purely the jurisprudence of the prophet. Thirdly, it is partly revelation and partly the jurisprudence (ijtihad) of the prophet. Within the framework of the evidence, it is understood that the Sunnah consists of both revelation and jurisprudence (ijtihad). The Qur'an and Sunnah are inseparable dualities. All kinds of thoughts and actions that claim to be Islamic must be inspired by these two basic sources.
