Soğuk Savaş sonrası güvenlik alanı, birey güvenliğinin öne çıkması, ulus devletin zayıflaması ve askerî güvenliğin görece öneminin azalması itibarıyla köklü değişimlere uğramış olsa da bugün dünya çapında konuşulan konulara bakıldığında Realizm ve Neorealizmin öne sürdüğü fikirsel çerçevenin hâlâ devam ettiği çeşitli verilerle birlikte görülmektedir. Bu makale Realizm ve Neorealizm çerçevesinde mevcut güvenlik ortamını analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Terör ve sınır sorunları gibi problemlerden dolayı askerî seçeneklerin hâlâ güçlü bir koz olması, uluslararası ilişkiler teorileri bakımından değerlendirilecektir. Mevcut uluslararası ilişkiler ve uluslararası güvenlik ortamı analiz edilerek devletlerin hâlâ güçlü bir konumda yer aldıklarına dikkat çekilmiştir. Özellikle son yıllarda iç savaşların uluslararası gündemde daha fazla yer edinmesi ve insanları etkilemeye başlamasıyla birlikte askerî seçenekler ön plana çıkmaya başlamış, istikrarsız bölgelerde güçlü devletler çıkar yarışına girmişlerdir. Karşılıklı bağımlılığın gittikçe artmasının yanı sıra yeni ittifak yapılarının ve blokların oluştuğu, Suriye İç Savaşı gibi güncel konular izlendiğinde görülmektedir. İç savaşlar ve istikrarsızlıklar Realizm ve Neorealizmin tezlerini doğrulayabilecek özellikler taşımaktadır.
Although the post-Cold War security area has undergone radical changes in terms of the advance of individual security, the weakening of the national state and the relatively reduced importance of military security, today, when it comes to the topics discussed worldwide, it is seen with the various data that the ideological framework proposed by realism and neorealism is still ongoing. This article aims to analyze the existing security environment in the context of realism and neorealism. Because of problems such as terrorism and border issues, military options are still a strong crossing, international relations will be assessed in terms of theories. By analyzing the existing international relations and the international security environment, it was noted that the states are still in a strong position. Especially in recent years, with the increased place of civil wars in the international agenda and starting to affect people, military options have begun to come to the forefront, and strong states in unstable regions have entered the race of interest. In addition to the increasing mutual dependence and the formation of new alliance structures and blocks, the current issues such as the Syrian Civil War are observed. Internal wars and instabilities carry the characteristics that can confirm the theories of realism and neorealism.
Even though the security area has undergone radical changes after the Cold War due to the prominence of individual security, the weakening of the nation-state and the relative importance of military security, ,as world-wide issues are taken into consideration, that the realistic and neo-philosophical intellectual framework is still supported by various data. This article aims to analyze the existing security environment in the framework of realism and neorealism. The military options will still be a strong trump card for problems such as terrorism and border issues and will be evaluated in terms of international relations theories. It is emphasized that the states are still in a strong position through analyzing the current international relations and international security environment. Especially in the recent years since the civil wars are becoming topical issues and have begun to affect people, military options have started to come into prominence and powerful states have competed for their self interest in volatile region In addition to the increasing interdependence, it is seen that new alliance structures and blocks are formed as current issues like the Syrian Civil War are observed. Civil war and instability have features that can confirm the hypothesis of realism and neorealism.
