Abstract:

Abdals have been known as the Turkmen tribe according to written sources since ancient times. Abdals have come to the lands we live in with the waves of immigration that started to Anatolia, although they deal with many different professions, they have sustained their livelihood by working as musicians and playing drums-zurna at weddings until today. There were many aşık and ozan in this Turkmen tribe called Abdals. One of these ozans is Hacı Taşan. In this research, Hacı Taşan's folk song Allı Turnam was transferred to the cello and educational materials (series, exercises and etudes) were prepared for the characteristic gains in the playing of this transferred folk song. The research is a descriptive study in which qualitative data collection techniques are used. Document analysis technique was used among the data collection methods. While arrange the folk song Allı Turnam to cello, the compilation note in the TRT Turkish Folk Music (THM) repertoire, sound recordings of Hacı Taşan and expert opinions were taken as a basis. Expert opinions were also sought during the preparation of the training materials. Fifteen technical learning outcome of the Allı Turnam folk song transferred to the cello instrument were determined, and an exercise, a maqam scale, and a study including all the learning outcome were prepared for the two learning outcome that are thought to be characteristic. The 2/4 tempo of the work has been changed to 4/4. The difficulty of reading the weighing patterns in the work has caused this change. Expert opinions were also taken while making this change. This research is of great importance in terms of introducing Hacı Taşan and his folk songs, which are a cultural value of Kırıkkale, in national and international platforms and adding these folk songs to the cello repertoire. In addition, the fact that it sheds light on the studies about the adaptation of folk melodies to both cello and other instruments reveals another importance of this research. It is thought that it is possible to carry our culture to universal dimensions as a result of the cooperation of the local characteristics of our folk songs inherited from our ancestors and the universal characteristics of the cello instrument.
