Abstract:

Weeds are one of the important problems in crop production, exert significant negative impacts on crop yield and quality and server as hosts for several diseases and pests. This study was conducted in accordance with the instruction of Misintry of agriculture and forestry after the detection the quarantine pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum (Bacterial wilt of tomatoes and Brown rot of potatoes) in Çanakkale Batakovası Kırkgözler Drainage and Irrigation Canal to determine the weed species in the canal. Surveys were conducted for three 2012, 2013, 2014 years at 7 different points in 18 km long canal. Weed species 131 samples were collected from inside and around the irrigation canal, weeds were identified, and the most dense and common species were determined. A total of 35 different weed species belonging to 24 families were recorded during the surveys. 5 types of determined weeds are narrow-leaved, one type is algae, the others are broad-leaved weeds. Two of these species were underwater-floating weeds. Astereceae family was the most represented with 4 species, followed by the Poaceae and Lamiaceae families with 3 species. Phragmites austrialis (Cav.) Trin. ex Steud.,, Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers., Polygonum amphibium L., Mentha piperita L., M. pulegium, and Nasturtium officinale L. were the most frequently observed weed species in the study. Survey çalışmalarında; toplam 24 familyaya ait 35 farklı yabancı ot türü tespit edilmiştir. Belirlenen yabancı otların 5 türü dar yapraklı, bir türü alglerden, diğerleri geniş yapraklıdır. Bu türlerden ikisinin su altı-yüzen yabancı otlardan olduğu saptanmıştır. Tür sayısı bakımından 4 türle Astereceae familyası ilk sırayı alırken, bunu 3 türle Poaceae ve Labiatae familyaları takip etmiştir. Kanalda; Phragmites austrialis (Cav.) Trin. ex Steud., Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers., Polygonum amphibium L., Mentha piperita L., M. pulegium L. ve Nasturtium officinale L. türlerine en yoğun ve en sık rastlanmıştır. Ayrıca hastalık etmeninin konukçusu olan Solanum dulcamara L. türü de tespit edilmiştir.
