Abstract:

This study aims at comparing the burnout levels of healthcare employees reported in the scientific papers originated in Turkey between March 2020, the official date of the Covid 19 pandemic in Turkey, and March 2022 (two years), with the burnout levels between 2018-2020 March (two years), the pre-pandemic period. Within the scope of the context, the literature was searched using the keywords "Burnout", "Healthcare Employees", "Covid" and "Pandemic", 68 studies included mean levels of burnout reported, 23 studies during Covid were included in the study. The statistical significance of the differences between the means was evaluated by performing nonparametric tests on the standardized data before and during Covid 19. As a result of the analysis, although the reported burnout levels of health care workers were above the average, there was no statistical difference when the averages of burnout levels before and during Covid were compared. When the studies included in the study were examined in detail, many methodological problems were observed, especially the use of scales. Based on the research findings, the findings related to the Maslach Burnout inventory, which is frequently used in research, are discussed.
