Abstract:

Scientific and technological journals are materials that have taken similar functions in different countries and periods. It is also possible to identify the process and level of development of science in a particular place and time by following these magazines. This will not only be able to get knowledge of the level of science, but will also be able to reveal the connections and ways of transition between the current science and the general problems of society.

Modern engineering education in the Ottoman began in the 18th century. But the specialized engineering magazines that require specialization in the Ottoman press were seen after the announcement of the II.Mashrutiyet. Three engineering magazines have been published in the name of engineering or by the engineering publisher until the proclamation of the Republic: The Young Engineer and The Ottoman Engineer and Architect Association and The Engineer’s Message The .

In our work, first and foremost, all the numbers of these three magazines have been studied and tables on their content have been created by translating from Ottoman to today's Turkish.

Finally, with the study of these journals in which scientific thought is presented to the public in the earliest and closest form, it will be possible to evaluate the Ottoman science in the engineering axis that will form the foundation of the Republic's science.
