Abstract:

In the 4th Century (AD), the debates started between Christians caused emergence of Monophysite and Dyophysite currents and the Dyophysite current was called as Nestorianism after receiving the support of Nestorius, the Patriarch of İstanbul, in the 5th Century (AD). Nestorius started to use the Churches of Antakya and Edessa in order to spread his ideas after being announced as outlawed from religion and relegated by Byzantine. Nestorians, expelled from Byzantine and whose schools were closed, settled in Mesopotamia region ruled by Iranians. Although Iran has opened its doors to Nestorians to use them as a political and religious trump card against Byzantine, they began to get closer to Byzantine Empire after the 6th Century (AD). Nestorians, who were the leading problem between Iran and Byzantine, have pioneered Christianity to be spread over Iranian lands, Central Asia and the Arabian Peninsula
