Abstract:

Introduction and Purpose: Monoblok itrium stabilized tetragonal zirconium polycrystalline (Y-TZP) ceramics have been one of the most important materials to show high mechanical and aesthetic characteristics compared to other ceramics. Monoblok zirconium has advanced layer ceramics with characteristics such as biodegradability, non-toxic effects, low bacterial adhesion. The purpose of this case report is to restore the non-esthetic appearance of the front teeth with complete ceramic restorations. A 27-year-old man complained of the unesthetic appearance of his anterior teeth. Clinical and radiographic examinations have shown that the patient with bruksism has broken surfaces and insizal edges. The front area is selected with monolithic zirconium material due to its translucent and durability advantages for aesthetic restorations. Result: 12 months of follow-up has not been any aesthetic and functional complications. Monolithic zirconium systems can be used to prevent complications associated with double layer ceramic systems in proteic rehabilitation. Monoblock zirconia is a biocompatible non-toxic material with low bacterial adhesion and which eliminates multilayering of ceramics. The purpose of this report was to restore the unesthetic appearance of maxillary anterior teeth with full ceramic restoration. Case presentation: A 27-year-old man referred because of the unesthetic appearance of the anterior teeth. As a result of clinical and radiographic examinations, it is indicated that the patient with wear on occlusal surfaces is the patient having bruxism. Monolithic zirconia was chosen for its translucency for previous esthetics and strength. Results: No aesthetic and functional complications were after 12 months. Prosthetic rehabilitation using monolithic zirconia may help to prevent complications associated with bilayered ceramics systems. Key words: monoblock zirconia; esthetic; crown
