Renkler taş devrinden günümüze kadar uzun bir serüvende gelişerek ve çoğalarak gelmiştir. Renklerin tarihlerinde birden fazla teori üretilmiştir ve günümüzde de kullanımı yaygın olan teoriler bulunmaktadır. Renkler uluslara göre; dinlerde, kültürlerde, siyasi ilişkilerde farklılık kazanmıştır. Bazı dönemlerde renkler yön göstergesi olarak kullanılmaktaydı. Dönemlerdeki yön renkleri çalışmanın içeriğinde bulunmaktadır. Rivayetlere göre eski çağlarda kuzeyi gösteren renk ‘kara’dır ve günümüzde de kuzeyde Karadeniz bulunmaktadır. Günümüzde renklerin anlamları ve insanda yarattığı etkileri araştırılarak mekân tasarımları bu araştırma sonucuna göre yapılmaya başlanmıştır. İnsanların kişilikleri sevdikleri, beğendikleri renklerden anlaşılmaktadır. Renklerin insan üzerindeki etkisi kullanılarak tıpta tedavi amaçlı kullanımı giderek yaygınlaşmaktadır. Çalışmada renklerin anlamlarına, insanlarda hissettirdiği duygulara ve Kuran’da geçen renklere değinilmiştir.
Colors have developed and multiplied in a long adventure from the stone age to the present day. More than one theory has been produced in the history of colors, and there are some theories that are common today. Colors according to nations; religions, cultures, political relations have gained. In some periods, colors were used as direction indicators. Direction colors in the periods are included in the study. According to rumors, in ancient times, the color indicating the north is "black" and today there is Black Sea in the north. The meaning of colors and their effects on human beings were investigated and space designs were started according to the results of this research. People's personalities are understood by their favorite colors. The use of colors on human beings is becoming increasingly common in medicine. In this study, the meaning of colors, the emotions it makes people feel and the colors in the Qur’an are mentioned.
