Amaç: Fırat Üniversitesi Hastanesi Merkez Laboratuvarı'na 2012 yılı içinde çeşitli kliniklerden toksoplasmozis şüphesi ile gönderilen serum örneklerinde toksoplazma seroprevalansının belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: 350'si kadın, 369'u erkek olmak üzere toplam 719 hastanın serum örneğinde anti-T. gondii IgM ve anti-T. gondii IgG antikorlarının varlığı ELISA yöntemi ile araştırıldı. Bulgular: Örneklerin 141'inde (%19.6) T. gondii IgG, 9'unda (%1.3) T. gondii IgM ve 39'unda (%5,4) ise IgG ve IgM seropozitifliği saptandı. En yüksek seropozitiflik oranı IgG için 60 yaş üzeri bireylerde (%60), IgM için ise 0-9 yaş grubu bireylerde (%1.4) saptanırken, kadınlardaki seropozitifliğin erkeklerden fazla olduğu görüldü. Sonuç: IgM seropozitifliğinin 30-39 yaş grubunda ve kadınlarda yüksek olması, özellikle gebelik dönemindeki kadınlarda akut enfeksiyonların önemi dikkate alındığında, toksoplazma için serolojik testlerin rutinde mutlaka yapılması gerektiği görülmektedir.
The aim was to determine the toxoplasma seroprevalence in serum samples sent from various clinics in 2012 with suspicion of toxoplasmosis. In the serum sample of a total of 719 patients, including 350 women, 369 men, the presence of anti-T. gondii IgM and anti-T. gondii IgG antibodies was studied by ELISA method. Results: in 141 examples (19.6%) T. gondii IgG, in 9 (1.3%) T. gondii IgM and in 39 (5.4%) IgG and IgM seropositivity were detected. The highest seropositivity rate for IgG was found in individuals over the age of 60 (60%) and for IgM in individuals of 0-9 years (1.4%) while seropositivity in women was found to be higher than in men. The result: high seropositivity of IgM in the age group of 30-39 and in women, especially in women during pregnancy, considering the importance of acute infections, it appears that serological tests for toxoplasma should necessarily be carried out in the routine.
