Abstract:

The tourism industry 2. It has a rapidly growing structure throughout the world since the World War and is an important source of income for its countries. The currency supports growth with its profit and employment structure. Therefore, the tourism sector has a significant impact especially on the growth of developing countries. In Turkey, the tourism investments in the past twenty years have increased significantly, and with these investments the tourism income has also increased. Although the majority of the investments are aimed at those located in the west of Turkey, there are many cities that attract tourists in the country. This is one of them, especially in winter and cultural tourism. In this study, the factors that influenced the tourism demand for the Erzurum province in the period 1998-2017 were studied. Four of the countries that send the most tourists to Erzurum have been selected and panel data analysis has been implemented. According to the results of the analysis, both income and price variables have been found meaningful, and both variables have been determined to have a positive impact on the number of tourists arriving in Erzurum. The cost of making a vacation in Erzurum is relatively lower and due to the improvement in quality over time, the rise in prices has not caused demand to fall.
