Başlık: HEMŞİRELİK SON SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN İNTRAMÜSKÜLER ENJEKSİYON UYGULAMASINA İLİŞKİN BİLGİ DÜZEYLERİ Title: KNOWLEDGE LEVELS OF SENIOR NURSING STUDENTS REGARDING THE INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTİON Özet: Amaç: Bu araştırma ile hemşirelik son sınıf öğrencilerinin intramüsküler enjeksiyonlara ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı olarak yapılan araştırmanın örneklemini, Türkiye’nin 6 coğrafi bölgesinde ilk kurulan hemşirelik programlarında öğrenim gören toplam 459 hemşirelik son sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veriler 30.03.2015 ve 04.06.2015 tarihleri arasında üç bölümden oluşan İntramüsküler Enjeksiyon Bilgi Düzeyi Belirleme Formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Bu formun birinci bölümü öğrencilerin tanıtıcı özelliklerini, ikinci bölümü öğrencilerin intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygulama deneyimlerini ve üçüncü bölümü öğrencilerin intramüsküler enjeksiyon ile ilgili bilgi düzeylerini belirlemeye yönelik sorulardan oluşmaktadır. Veriler tanımlayıcı istatistikler ve parametrik testler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın yapılabilmesi için etik kuruldan ve eğitim kurumlarından yazılı izin, öğrencilerden yazılı onam alınmıştır. Bulgular ve Sonuç: Öğrencilerin intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygulaması bilgi puanları (15,21±4,18) orta düzeydedir. Cinsiyet, hemşirelik mesleğini sevme, insanlara yardımcı olma, üniversite kalitesi, öğretim elemanı olma gibi hemşirelik bölümünü seçme nedenleri ve hemşirelik bölümünü seçmekten memnun olma ile ilgili bilgi puan ortalamaları arasındaki farklar istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Öğrencilerin %19,5’i her bölgeye/kasa intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygularken, %4,4’ü hiçbir bölgeye/kasa intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygulamamıştır. Öğrencilerin %38,8’i mezun olmadan önce intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygulamasına yönelik ek teorik eğitim ve %61,2’si ek uygulama eğitimi almak istemiştir. Araştırma sonunda, öğrencilerin intramüsküler enjeksiyon eğitimine yönelik lisans eğitimini, eğitim koşullarını, öğretim elemanlarının ve hemşirelerin davranışlarını içeren görüşleri dikkate alınarak önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Abstract: Objective: This research was performed to determine the knowledge level of senior nursing students related with intramuscular injections. Methods: Done as descriptive research’s sample was constituted from 459 senior nursing students who studied at first established nursing departments in six different geographical regions of Turkey. Data was collected between 30.03.2015 and 04.06.2015 with using Intramuscular Injection Knowledge Level Determination Form which has tree section. The first section of this form consists identifying characteristics of the students, the second section consists students’ experiences of intramuscular injection administration and the third section consists of determination of the level of students’ knowledge about the intramuscular injection with questions. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and parametric tests. The study was approved by the ethical committee and educational institutions and informed consent signed from students. Results: The knowledge scores of the students’ in intramuscular injection administration were (15.21±4.18) which found in average levels. The differences between gender, some reasons for choosing the nursing department such as to like the nursing profession, to help people, to become instructor, quality of university and to pleasure choosing the nursing department and mean of knowledge score was found statistically significant (p <0.05). Whereas 19,5% of students administrated intramuscular injection in each site, 4,4% of students did not any site. The students administrated intramuscular injection in dorsogluteal site average 12,77 times 3,49 times in ventrogluteal site. The most preferred site was dorsogluteal site by the students and it was found that students did not know about this region is not recommended for intramuscular injection. 38,8% of the students have been seeking addition to theoretical training of intramuscular injection and 61,2% of the students addition to practical training of intramuscular injection, before graduating. Conclusion: There have been considering suggestions with the opinions of students who are related to intramuscular injection training, undergraduate education, training conditions, the teaching staff and nurses' behavior. Title: NURSING STUDENTS REGARDING THE INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTION Title: KNOWLEDGE LEVELS OF SENIOR NURSING STUDENTS REGARDING THE INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTION Summary: The purpose of this study is to determine the level of information about the intramuscular injections of NURSING STUDENTS. Tools and Methods: The sample of the research performed as a defining formed by a total of 459 nursing final class students who studied in the first-established nursing programs in 6 geographical regions of Turkey. The data was collected using the Intra-Muscular Injection Information Level Identification Form, which consists of three sections between 30.03.2015 and 04.06.2015. The first part of this form consists of questions aimed at determining the introductive characteristics of the students, the second part of the students' intramuscular injection application experience and the third part of the students' level of knowledge about intramuscular injection. The data was analyzed using identifying statistics and parametric tests. The written permission from the ethical board and educational institutions for the conduct of the research has been obtained, written approval from students. Results and Results: Students' intramuscular injection application information scores (15.21±4.18) are on a medium level. Differences between gender, loving the nursing profession, helping people, university quality, reasons to choose the nursing department, and satisfaction with the choice of the nursing department have been statistically meaningful (p<0,05). 19.5% of students have given intramuscular injections to each area/case, while 4.4% have not given intramuscular injections to any area/case. Students applied an intramuscular injection to the dorsogluteal area an average of 12.77 times and to the ventrogluteal area an average of 3.49 times. Students have found that their preferred area is the dorsogluteal area and they don’t know that this area is not recommended for intramuscular injection. 38.8% of students wanted to receive additional theoretical training for the intramuscular injection application before graduation and 61.2% wanted to receive additional theoretical training for the application before graduation. At the end of the study, recommendations were made taking into account the students' bachelor's training on intramuscular injection training, the educational conditions, the views of the teachers' and nurses' behavior.
