Granulose cell tumor is a over tumor that is sex cord stromal source, rare and can often synthesize sex steroids such as estrogen. In this study, we present a female patient who applied to our emergency service due to a thirty-eight-year-old abdominal pain and a general disorder and has an acute abdominal table available in the preoperative abdominal examination. In the patient’s magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, the left adnectic area observed a 56x55 mm-size cystic injury and a mass injury containing solid and cystic areas within the abdomen and pelvis. After our patient's surgical exploration, a cystic tumor mass was detected that caused acute abdominal bleeding by penetrating the sigmoid column in the left over. We applied previous recession and bilateral salpingo-ooferectomy to our case. As a result of histopathology, a tumor of the left overde granulose cell has been detected invading the sigmoid column. In the presentation of this phenomenon, overin granulose cell tumor case and clinical appearance were reviewed in the light of literary data.
Granulosa cell tumor of the ovary is one of the sex cord stromal tumors of the ovary and often has the ability to secrete sex steroids such as estrogen. In our article, we present a 48-year-old female patient with abdominal pain and weakness who admitted to our emergency service and showed acute abdomen on physical examination preoperatively. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a cystic lesion with dimensions of 56x55 mm in the left adnexal region, and a mass lesion with cystic and solid components within the abdomen and pelvis. After the surgical exploration, a cystic tumorous mass of left ovary which penetrated sigmoid colon causing intraabdominal hemorrhage was detected. We performed an anterior resection and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Histopathological examination revealed a granulosa cell tumor of left ovary invasive to sigmoid colon. In this case report, clinical appearance of a case of granulosa cell tumor of the ovary is reviewed according to view of the literature.
