In this study, the traces and status in today’s KazanTatar language of the military and political vocabulary in the Codex Cumanicus were evaluated and the vocabulary belonging to this field was discussed in terms of its meaning course under various headings. Codex Cumanicus includes the colloquial collations of the Kipchaks living in the region known as Deşt-i Kipchaks in the north of the Black Sea, words from various fields, word lists, Cuman riddles, Christian prayers, sermons, hymns. The vocabulary of this work which belongs to the North Kipchak area, is especially valuable in terms of compilations made from the spoken language of the Kipchaks. The fact that some words that undetected in the works written up to that period or some words that undetected in the historical Kipchak Turkish works were seen in the Codex Cumanicus supports this situation. The vocabulary of the work provides valuable information about the language, cultural, social, political and economic life of the period in which this work was written. There are words and terms belonging to various fields in the Codex Cumanicus. One of these fields is the words belonging to the military and political vocabulary. In the work, there are nouns related to the conceptual fields of war and soldier, words related to military clothing, war equipment, horse and horse harness, and various political terms in this field. The words belonging to the military and political vocabulary found in the Codex Cumanicus, the status of these words in Kazan-Tatar language, which is one of the Northwest (Kipchak) group dialects, has been evaluated in terms of the course of meaning. The meanings of the detected words in Codex Cumanicus and status and meanings of these words in Kazan-Tatar language were examined. In the investigations made in the context of Kazan-Tatar Turkish, referred to dictionaries and lexicology studies, dictionaries and works prepared on military and political terminology in this dialect were used.
