Abstract:

The research aims to examine the relationship between university students' perceived parenting attitudes (ABT) and psychological well-being (PİO) levels and their attitudes towards gender roles (TCRT) according to some variables. The study was carried out with the quantitative method and screening model, which is one of the research methods. 504 people studying at universities in Ankara, Çanakkale, Istanbul and Izmir participated in the study. The data were collected with the "Personal Information Form, Parent Attitude Scale, Gender Roles Attitude Scale and Psychological Well-Being Scale" and the analyzes were analyzed with SPSS21 using the "t-test, anova, kruskal wallis h, mann whitney u and correlation analyzes" were used. As a result of research; While there was a negative significant relationship between authoritarian ABT sub-dimension and egalitarian attitude towards TCRT, a positive significant relationship was found between democratic ABT sub-dimension and egalitarian attitude towards TCRT. A negative significant relationship was found between the protective ABT sub-dimension and both the egalitarian and traditional attitudes towards TCRT. No significant relationship was found between the democratic parents sub-dimension and the traditional attitude towards TCRT. It has been understood that there is a positive significant relationship between students' PİO levels and TCRT attitude scale scores.
