The development, experienced in information and communication technologies at the end of the 20th century, caused changes in individuals’ lives in accessing or sharing the information. One of the most dramatic changes is the increase in use of social media. Social networks could also be defined as the platforms where users communicate with people from other cultures; they express their emotions and thoughts with emoji and symbols, unique to artificial platforms, in the framework of certain rituals, as they describe themselves. Today, teacher candidates benefit from social networks to build new and independent learning platforms for the purpose of education. This research, which has the purpose of determining whether the attributes of teacher candidates, studying in Faculty of Education, about social network is a precursor for their perspectives about using social networks in educational atmospheres, is a descriptive research. In the research, a survey developed by the researcher to receive the comments of the prospective teachers about the use of social networks at educational contexts and an attitude scale also developed by the researcher to identify the attitude of the prospective teachers towards the social networks were used as data collection tools. In the research, hierarchical regression analysis was used for data analysis. A new artificial variable produced as one less than the numbers of the levels and called dummy variable was created by excluding one of the categorical variable levels from the analysis. Research sample consists of 100 prospective teachers who are studying at Amasya University’s Faculty of Education. Research result suggests that the prospective teachers who think that social networks enriches educational contexts, such networks need to be used in educational contexts continuously and that sharing content through social networks is an effective method have a more positive attitude towards social networks than the other prospective teachers.
