Abstract:

The main objective of this study is to study the material points obtained from the Union Liability Scale (SBÖ) with the Phase Reaction Model (ATM), which is the Model of Material Reaction Theory (MTK). In the collection of research data, the SBÖ was developed by Gordon and his friends (1980) and used by Bilgin (2003) in the Turkish adaptation work. The study’s work group consists of 353 teachers selected through simple random sampling in 2009 in the provinces of Kütahya, Istanbul, Eskişehir, Bursa, İzmir and Fiskesir. The SBÖ has 15 articles on the attitude towards trade union commitment, and the teachers are asked to respond to these articles between "I definitely do not agree (1)" and "I definitely agree (5)". The attitude materials were studied using ATMs that are suitable for liquid-type scales from multi-category MTK models. In the analysis of the research data, first of all, it was studied whether the data set of the MTK provides one-dimensional and local independence assumptions. In the second phase of the analysis of the research data, the calibration of the material was carried out by selecting the ATM in the MULTILOG program. The study found that the data set provided the MTK's one-dimensional and local independence assumptions and that the model-data compatibility was secured.
