Kültür ve medeniyetlerin oluşumunda çeviri çalışmalarının katkısı son derece önemlidir. Her kültür kendisinden önce gelen uygarlıkların birikimlerini artırarak devam ettirir. Böylece toplumlar gelişir ve yükselir. Kültürlerin birbiriyle iletişimini sağlayan en önemli köprü çeviri faaliyetleridir. Orta çağ Rusya’sında çeviri çalışmaları Kiev Rusya’sında başlamış ve zamanla bütün ülkeye yayılmıştır. Sonraki dönemlerde çalışmalar gelişme kaydetmiş, bu amaçla uzman kişiler ülkeye davet edilmiştir. Çok eskilere dayanan Rusya’da çeviri çalışmalarının katkısıyla Slav toplumu Batı ve Doğu kültürünü de tanıma şansına sahip olmuş ve dünya tarihinin akışında kendi yerini bulmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı o dönemlerde Rusya’da çeviri tarihi ve yapılan çeviri çalışmaları hatırlatmak, bu çalışmalara dikkati çekmek hem kendi kültürüne ve hem dünya mirasına katkılarını ifade etmektir.
The contribution of translation work to the formation of cultures and civilizations is extremely important. Translation work in the Middle Ages Russia began in Kiev Russia and has spread throughout the country over time. In the subsequent period, the studies have recorded progress, and for this purpose specialists have been invited to the country. With the contribution of its translation work in the very ancient Russia, the Slav society has had the opportunity to recognize the Western and Eastern culture and has found its place in the course of world history. The aim of this study is to remind the history of translation and the translation work in Russia during those periods, to draw into consideration these studies, to express their contribution to both their own culture and to the world heritage.
