Abstract:

This prepared study was also sought to study the relationship between the art of painting and the concept of esoterism in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance art, including the examples of the esoteric interests and contexts. The concept of esoterism is a concept that is basically inward meaning. When we look at the reflections of this concept in the field of painting art, it seems that the narrative language is through symbols. In this context, the work, as it is found on the basis of the research, is limited to medieval and Renaissance art works.  The prepared work was also obtained through the literary scan. The works that took place during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period were tried to be resolved by taking advantage of the possibilities of iconographic approach. The studies involved in the research have been chosen among the studies considered to contain esoteric structures during their own period, and each study has been attempted to reveal the connection with the concept of esoterism, which is the main subject of the research in its own particular.
