Abstract:

This study was conducted with the aim of studying the conditions and tendencies of child nurses to make medication errors. This research is a study of the identificative and relationship-seeking type. As a data collection tool in the study, the survey form, which consists of four sections, "Pediatric Nurses' Demographic Information Questionnaire Form", "Pediatric Nurses' Drug Application Errors Questionnaire Form", "Medical Errors Attitude Scale", "Medical Errors Trend Scale", was applied to 90 nurses working in pediatric clinics. 48.9% of nurses that they had made a mistake in the use of pediatric medication only once throughout their work life. 72.2% of nurses that their co-workers had seen an error in the application of pediatric medications only once throughout their work life. In this study, it was found that children’s nurses were doing very wrong doses of medication from the wrong medication. The tendency of nurses who are not satisfied with the clinic they are currently working has been higher than the tendency of nurses who are satisfied with the clinic they are currently working. The results of the study are similar to many of the other research results on the subject. The children’s nurses who participated in the study tended to a low level of medical error, while the behavior points in medical errors could be said to be a high level of negative. In relation to the subject of this study and the attitudes of nurses, it is recommended that studies are conducted to be evaluated by wider samples.
