Demokratik sistemlerde halk, seçimlerle ülkedeki en üstün siyasal iktidarı belirlediğinden dolayı, seçmen tercihi davranışı oldukça önemlidir. Günümüzde yapılan araştırmalar, seçmen tercihini etkileyen birçok faktörün olduğunu göstermektedir. Dindarlığın ibadet boyutu da bu faktörlerden biridir. Çalışmanın amacı, ibadet boyutunun seçmen tercihi üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Bu bağlamda, ibadet boyutu ile seçmen tercihi arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koyabilmek amacıyla Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi öğrencileriyle bir anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Elde edilen önemli sonuçlar arasında, ibadet boyutlarını gerçekleştirme düzeyi (namaz kılma sıklığı, oruç tutma sıklığı, hac ibadetine tutumları, zekat vermek sıklığı) ile seçmen tercihinin boyutlarından “oy vermeyi düşündüğü adayın dindar olması” ve “oy vereceği parti ya da adayın dindar söylemi” arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu, kadın öğrencilerin seçmen tercih boyutu ortalamasının, erkeklere göre daha yüksek olduğu, kararlı seçmenlerde ibadet boyutunun siyasal tercihe etkisinin sıra ortalamalarının (%82.35) kararsız seçmenlere göre (%69.62) oldukça yüksek olması bulunmaktadır.
In democratic systems, voter preference behavior is very important since the people determine the supreme political power in the country through elections. Recent studies show that there are many factors that affect voter preference. The worship dimension of religiosity is one of these factors. The aim of the study is to reveal the effect of worship dimension on elections. In this context, a survey was conducted with the students of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Political Science and Public Administration in order to reveal the relationship between the dimension of worship and voter preference. Among the important results obtained, the level of performing the dimensions of worship (frequency of praying, frequency of fasting, attitudes towards pilgrimage, frequency of giving zakat) and the dimensions of voter preference, ‘the candidate he intends to vote for is religious’ and ‘the party or candidate to vote for is religious’ a significant relationship between having; It is found that the average of the voter preference dimension of female students is higher than that of males, and that the effect of worship dimension on political preference in determined voters is considerably higher (82.35%) than undecided voters (69.62%).
