Abstract:

In a study aimed at studying the effects of organic acid supplement (Propionic, Formic and Malic Acid) on the ovulation performance, egg quality and some blood parameters, a total of 96 Lohmann (LSL) 28 weekly white ovarian chickens were distributed by chance to a control and three treatment groups, each from six subgroups and four animals in each subgroup. Animals in the control group were fed by basal ration, while the treatment groups were fed by basal food for 13 weeks with prepared ration, adding 200 ppm propionic acid (PA), formic acid (FA) and malic acid (MA) respectively. The effect of various organic acids added to the egg poultry rations on the ovulation performance has been unimportant. In the group feeding with propionic acid, the skin thickness of the egg quality characteristics was higher than in the group feeding with propionic acid supplement. There was no difference between the groups in terms of the other egg quality criteria examined. In animals in the Propionic acid group, the serum Ca and P content was higher than the control and formic acid group. The differences between the groups in terms of the values of other serum parameters (cholesterol, glucose, ALP, ALT, AST) have not been found significant.
