Çocuklar, çocuk kitapları aracılığıyla kitaplardaki kahramanlar ve onların yaşadığı olay ve durumlar hakkında düşünerek adil olmak, yardımsever olmak, sorumluluk sahibi olmak ve dürüst olmak gibi değerlerin öneminin farkına varıp bu değerlerin ne anlama geldiğini kavrayabilirler. Çocuk edebiyatının bu şekilde kullanımı, çocukların değerleri tanıyarak bu değerleri içselleştirmelerine katkı sağlar. Bu araştırmanın amacı, Cahit Uçuk’un çocuk romanlarında yer alan değerler eğitimi ile ilgili iletilerin tespit edilmesi ve tespit edilen bu iletilerin Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’nın öğretim programlarında “adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik, yardımseverlik” olarak belirlenen kök değerlere uygun bir şekilde sınıflandırılarak örneklerle açıklanmasıdır. Nitel araştırma, kuram oluşturmayı temele alan bir yaklaşımla sosyal olguları ilişkili oldukları çevre içerisinde araştırmayı ve anlamayı ön plana çıkaran bir yaklaşımdır. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Doküman incelemesi, araştırılması hedeflenen olgu veya olgular hakkında bilgi içeren yazılı materyallerin analizini kapsar. Araştırma kapsamında, Cahit Uçuk’un çocuk romanlarında yer alan değerler, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’nın öğretim programlarında belirlediği kök değerler kapsamında incelenmiş, inceleme sonucunda elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda sonuçlara ulaşılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, Cahit Uçuk’un 13 çocuk romanı ve 2 kitap serisi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda Cahit Uçuk’un çocuk romanlarının, çocukların değerler ile tanışmasını ve bu değerleri içselleştirmelerini sağlayacak birçok iletiye sahip olduğuna ulaşılmakla birlikte yazarın çocuk romanlarında sevgi, saygı, adalet, dürüstlük, vatanseverlik, yardımseverlik, sorumluluk, adalet ve dostluk değerlerine yer verildiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu açıdan değerlendirildiğinde, yazarın çocuk romanlarının Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’nın öğretim programlarında “adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik, yardımseverlik” olarak yer verdiği kök değerler ile örtüştüğü görülmüştür.
Through children's books, children can realize the importance of values such as being fair, helpful, responsible and honest by thinking about the heroes in the books and the events and situations they experience, and they can comprehend what these values mean. The use of children's literature in this way contributes to children's internalization of these values by recognizing them. The aim of this research is to determine the interests in values education in Cahit Ucuk's children's novels and to find out how these messages are used in the teaching programs of the Ministry of National Education such as “justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, helpfulness”. It is to explain it with examples by classifying it in accordance with the core values determined as benevolence. Qualitative research is an approach that emphasizes researching and understanding social phenomena in the environment they are related to, with an approach based on theory building. In the research, the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Document analysis includes the analysis of written materials containing information about the case or cases that are aimed to be investigated. Within the scope of the research, the values in Cahit Ucuk's children's novels were examined within the scope of the core values determined in the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education, conclusions were reached and suggestions were made in line with the findings obtained as a result of the examination. In the research, 13 children's novels and 2 book series by Cahit Ucuk were used as data collection tools. As a result of the research, it has been determined that Cahit Ucuk's children's novels have many messages that will enable children to meet values and internalize these values, and it has been determined that the author includes the values of love, respect, justice, honesty, patriotism, helpfulness, responsibility, justice and friendship in her children's novels. When evaluated from this point of view, it has been seen that the author's children's novels overlap with the core values that the Ministry of National Education includes in the curriculum of "justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, helpfulness".
