ÖZET: Tuzluluk sorunu, kurak ve yarı kurak bölgelerde sürekli artış göstermektedir. Tuzluluk osmotik ve toksik etkileriyle kültür bitkilerinde verimi düşürmektedir. Tuzlu toprakların ıslahı zor ve pahalı olduğundan toprak tuzluluğuna toleranslı ve yüksek verimli bitki tür ve çeşitlerinin belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu makalede tuzluluk problemi, tuzluluğun bitkiler üzerindeki etkileri, bitkilerde tuza dayanıklılık mekanizmaları ve tuzluluğa dayanıklılığın testi ile ilgili önemli noktalar üzerinde durulmuştur. SALT TOLERANCE IN CROP PLANTS SUMMARY : Salt problem has been increasing in arid, and semiarid lands. Saltiness decreases yields in crop plants through osmotic and toxic effects. Amendment of salt-affected soils is difficult and rather expensive, therefore, salt tolerant and high yielding crops and cultivars need to be determined and developed. This review investigated salt problem, the effects of saltiness on crop plants, resistans machanisms against the saltiness in crop plants and test of saltiness.
Summary: Salt problem is constantly increasing in dry and semi-dry areas. Salt reduces the productivity in cultures with its osmotic and toxic effects. Because the cleaning of salted soils is difficult and expensive, it is necessary to identify soil tolerant and highly productive plant species and varieties. This article focuses on the problem of salty, the effects of salty on plants, the mechanisms of salt resistance in plants and the important points related to the test of salty resistance.
