Mothers of Premature Baby Care Requirements at Home and Their Perception of Adequacy of Care Giving Background: Preterm is important to determine home care needs. Weeks of gestation can vary according to their mothers' perception of adequacy of care giving. Objectives: This study was done for the purpose of mothers with premature infants 32-37 weeks care needs at home their perception of care giving capabilities conditions. Methods: Descriptive study in the province of Konya two faculties, one research, two states and one private hospital, our NICU was done from 1 July to 30 November 2011. Data was collected reaching to 102 mothers who have given birth 32-37 weeks premature. Data; were collected using a questionnaire prepared by the researcher and percentage and chi-square test were analyzed. Results: It was determined that age average of mothers were 27.55±6.04 and 69.6% of them graduated from primary school. It was determined 58.8% of the babies’ age was 32-34. weeks of pregnancy. Care needs of mothers of prematurity babies at home bath 44.1%, nutrition 35.3%, diagnosis 34.3%, receiving-holding arms 33.4% were determined that such matters. When the adequacy of mothers' care giving was examined; it was found that 61.7% of the mothers found themselves incapable of bathing and 53% of them incapable of thrush care. It was found mothers’ with two or more child enough to perceive themselves to giving the baby care and this result was statistically significant (X2=6.302, p=.043). Conclusion: In the result of the study it has been determined that nurses’ should be implementation family-centered approach in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and predischarge parents should be given extensive training on home care of premature babies
