Abstract:

This study was carried out to investigate the effect of occupational health hands a fety training on the knowledge level of hospital staff. Pre-test and post-test quasi-experimental designs were used in the study. The sample of the study consists of 702 staff working in Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Health Application and Research Hospital. Before the training, the sample group was performed a test about occupational health and safety, which consisted of 20 multiple-choice questions, each correct answer was 5 points, and the wrong answer didn't eliminate the correct answer. After 15 days following the end of the training, the same questions were given to the participants, and they were asked to answer again. As a result of the statistical assay, the average score of the participants before the education was 60.48±13.55, while this score increased to 79.34±11.89 after the education. The score obtained by 37 of the participants before the training is higher than the score obtained after the training. The score received by 629 participants after the training was found to be higher than before the training. The scores of the 36 participants before and after the training are equal. A statistically significant difference was found between pre-training and post-training (p <0.05). It can be said that the training has a positive effect on the knowledge level of the participants.
