One of the most important actor in visitor satisfaction is the tourist guides. Guides are not just people who introduce the place they work; they are volunteer tourism represents in the same time. Tourist guides are one of the factors that are effective in creating a good image about agency, region and even country. Thus, tourist guides should be an exemplary individual who will give good experience to visitors with their high intellectual levels. Burnout can be observed in occupations based on face-to-face communication with people. According to Freudenberger (1974) burnout is, "A state of extinction in the internal resources of the individual as a result of failure, depreciation, loss of energy and power, or unfulfilled wishes". Burnout syndrome is a situation that can be encountered in people working in the service sector, including tourist guides. This study was conducted in order to determine the burnout levels of tourist guides and to determine whether the tour guides would like to quit this profession according to the burnout level. Within the scope of the study, the burnout levels of tour guides were determined on the sub-dimensions, then it was tried to show whether these variables were effecting the intention of quitting the tourist guide profession. Within the scope of the research, a survey form distributed to 550 tourist guides who are member of Tureb (The Chamber of Tourist Guides in Turkey). 138 of the collected questionnaires were deemed invalid due to incomplete answers, inconsistent information and similar reasons and left out of the analysis. Statistical analyzes were conducted to 412 valid questionnaires and findings were obtained. As a result, the burnout level of tourist guides has led to the positive impact of the tourist guides' intention to quitting the profession.
