Bireyin kronolojik yaşından bağımsız olarak yaşamının son döneminde olması, hemşirelerin kendi bakım davranışlarına yönelik farkındalıklarının yüksek düzeyde olmasını gerektirir. Çalışmanın amacı son dönemde bakım sürecinde rol alan hemşirelerin ölüm farkındalık düzeylerinin bakım davranışlarına olan etkisinin belirlenmesidir. Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte olan bu araştırma 20/11/2021- 01/03/2022 tarihleri arasında, bir üniversite hastanesinin reanimasyon yoğun ve palyatif bakım kliniklerinde çalışan 75 hemşire ile tamamlanmıştır. Araştırma verileri katılımcı tanıtım formu, Bakım Davranışları Ölçeği (BDÖ-24) ve Çok Boyutlu Ölüm Farkındalık Ölçeği (ÇBÖFÖ) ile toplanmıştır. Hemşirelerin %72’si 30 yaş altında, %52’si 0-5 yıl yıllık çalışma deneyimine sahip ve %88’i reanimasyon kliniğinde çalışmaktadır. Ayrıca hemşirelerin %69,3’ü çalıştığı klinikten memnun olduğunu, %68’i son dönem bakım hakkında özel bir eğitim almadığını belirtmiş ve %57,3’ü kendini merhametli olarak tanımlamıştır. Hemşirelerin BDÖ-24 toplam puan ortalaması 4,90+1,01 ve ÇBÖFÖ toplam puan ortalaması 122,80+16,8’dir. Çalışılan bölümden memnun olma durumu ölümü kabul etme alt boyutu ve ÇBÖFÖ toplam puan ortalamasını etkileyen bir değişken iken, son dönem/ölüm/yaşam sonu bakımla ilgili bir eğitim alma durumu ise ölümü kabul etme ve ölüm korkusu alt boyutlarını etkileyen bir değişkendir. Çalışılan klinikten memnun olma durumunun BDÖ-24 toplam puan ve tüm alt boyut puan ortalamalarını etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Ölüm anında bireye müdahale etme durumunun ise yalnızca BDÖ- güvence alt boyut puan ortalamasını etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan hemşirelerin ölüm farkındalıklarının çalıştıkları klinikten memnun olma, ölümü kabul etme ve ölüm korkusu kavramlarıyla ilişkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca son dönem bakım alma sürecinde olan bireye yönelik bakım algıları yüksek düzeydedir.
Regardless of the chronological age of the individual, being in the last period of his life requires nurses to have a high level of awareness of their own care behaviors. The aim of the study is to determine the effect of the death awareness levels of nurses who have recently taken part in the care process on their care behaviors. This descriptive and cross-sectional study was completed with 75 nurses working in the reanimation intensive and palliative care clinics of a university hospital between 20/11/2021 and 01/03/2022. Research data were collected with participant introduction form, Caring Behaviors Scale (BDI-24) and Multidimensional Death Awareness Scale (MCPA). 72% of the nurses are under the age of 30, 52% have 0-5 years of working experience and 88% work in the reanimation clinic. In addition, 69.3% of the nurses stated that they were satisfied with the clinic they worked in, 68% of them stated that they did not receive any special training about end-stage care, and 57.3% of them defined themselves as compassionate. The total mean score of the nurses' BDI-24 was 4.90+1.01, and the total mean score of the CBFR was 122.80+16.8. While the state of being satisfied with the department is a variable that affects the acceptance of death sub-dimension and the total mean score of the CBSS, the status of receiving an education on end-of-life/death/end-of-life care is a variable that affects the sub-dimensions of acceptance of death and fear of death. It was determined that the state of being satisfied with the clinic worked affects the BDI-24 total score and all sub-dimension mean scores. It was determined that the intervention to the individual at the time of death only affected the BDI-assurance sub-dimension score average. It was determined that the death awareness of the nurses participating in the study was related to the concepts of being satisfied with the clinic, accepting death and fear of death. In addition, the perception of care for the individual who is in the last period of care is at a high level.
