Abstract:

Purpose: The clinical condition is to provide the clinical results of the breaks of the femur diaphysis in children under the age of six that we are treated conservately. Tools and Methods: Patients with a femur diaphysis break, which applied to the emergency service of three different institutions, were applied under the traction on the side of a single ortopedist with the help of a pencil technician. Patients with regular röntgen tracking were removed after 6 weeks. In the 3rd and 6th months, clinical tests were conducted in terms of rotation and shortness. In the last check the walking disorder was assessed, and it was checked whether the arm and knee joint movement openness was lost. Results: Between April 2009 and June 2010, 15 children were taken to the study of femur diaphysis fractures. The average age was 29 months (8 months-66 months). Four of the 15 patients were caused by a traffic accident, and 11 were caused by a collapse. In 9 patients the left leg was affected and in 6 patients the right leg was affected. In 8 patients, the spiral form was broken, and in 7 patients, the transversal type was broken. In the assessment, no patient has a rotation and shortness problem at the level that will interfere with walking and cause topalation. The movements of the neck and knee joints were determined at normal limits. The result: we believe that the treatment method of reduction under traction, which can be performed in clinical conditions in children under the age of 6 years of age, is still a successful method that is effective and easy to use.
