Bu çalışma, Türkiye’de 1980-2018 dönemi için yenilenebilir enerji tüketiminin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisini incelemektedir. Bunun için çalışmada değişkenlere ilk olarak birim kök testi uygulanmış ve düzey değerlerinin birim kök içerdiği tespit edilmiştir. Birim kök testi sonrasında değişkenler arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisi sınır ARDL testi ile incelenmiştir. Sınır ARDL testi sonuçlarına göre değişkenler arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisi bulunmuştur. Test sonucuna göre uzun dönemde yenilenebilir enerji tüketimindeki %1’lik artış, ekonomik büyümeyi %0,91 oranında artırmaktadır. Eşbütünleşme sonrası Toda-Yamamoto nedensellik testi yapılmış ve yenilenebilir enerji tüketiminden ekonomik büyümeye doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisinin olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlar Türkiye’de yenilenebilir enerji tüketimindeki artışların ekonomik büyümeyi artıracağını göstermektedir.
This study examines the impact of renewable energy consumption on economic growth in Turkey for the period 1980-2018. For this purpose, the study first applied a unit root test to the variables and found that the level values contained a unit root. The unit root test followed by the limit ARDL test of the combination relationship between the variables. The limit ARDL test results showed a combination relationship between the variables. According to the results of the test, an increase of 1% in renewable energy consumption in the long term increases economic growth by 0.91%. After the integration, Toda-Yamamoto was conducted a causality test and found that there was a one-way causal relationship from renewable energy consumption to economic growth. These results show that the increase in renewable energy consumption in Turkey will increase economic growth.
