Abstract:

Geçmişten günümüze kadar, çok başarılı halkla ilişkiler çalışmalarının yanında, olumsuz birçok örnekle de karşı-laşılmıştır. Ancak 2000’li yıllara gelindiğinde halkla ilişkiler mesleği daha fazla tanınmaya başlanmış ve profesyonel uygulayıcılar meslek ilkeleri hakkında daha duyarlı bir anlayışa kavuşmuşlardır. Bu durumun bir sonucu olarak halkla ilişkiler etiği giderek önem kazan-mıştır. Çalışmada halkla ilişkilerin günümüzde geldiği noktadan, halkla ilişkiler uygulayıcısı rolünün filmlerde sergileniş biçimiyle hedef kitleler gözündeki meslek yansıması tartışılmaktadır. Çalışmanın literatür bölü-münde halkla ilişkiler mesleği, halkla ilişkiler uygulayıcıla-rının özellikleri ve etik konularına değinilmiştir. Araştırma bölümünde ise 2000 yılı ve sonrası Türkçe ve İngilizce dillerinde yayınlanmış olan Halkla İlişkiler ve Tanıtım mesleğinin temsil edildiği filmlerde halkla ilişkiler uygu-layıcısının söylem ve davranışları Uluslararası Halkla İlişkiler Derneği (IPRA) Davranış Kuralları doğrultusunda incelenmiştir.

Public Relations and Ethics: Review of the Public Relations Professional Representative in Films After 2000 in the context of Ethical Codes

From the past to the present day, in addition to the work of very successful public relations, many negative examples have been confronted. But by the 2000s, the public relations profession began to become more recognized and professional practitioners gained a more sensitive understanding of the professional principles. As a result of this situation, the ethics of public relations has increasingly gained importance. From the point in which public relations come today, the role of the public relations practitioner is discussed in the form of exhibition in the films and the profession reflection in the eyes of the target audiences. The literary section of the study has been focused on the public relations profession, public relations with the practitioner’s characteristics and ethical issues. In the research section, in the films represented by the Public Relations and Promotion profession, which were published in Turkish and English in 2000 and later, the speech and behavior of the Public Relations Advisor was studied in accordance with the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Rules of Behavior.

Beside successful public relations studies from past to present, many negative examples have been came across. However, in the 2000s, the public relations profession became more recognized and professional practitioners gained a deeper understanding of the pro-fession’s principles. This resulted in gaining importance of ethic practices in public relations over time. In this study, the image of public relations practioners created in the target audience’s eye is discussed from the point of public relations profession is presented in the films. In the literature section, public relations profession, characteris-tics of public relations practitioners and ethical issues are discussed. In the research section, the public relations practitioner's discourse and behaviors were examined in line with the International Public Relations Association's (IPRA) Code of Conduct in films where Public Relations and Publicity practices were represented in Turkish and English languages in 2000s and beyond.
