Examining the Ranking of Undergraduate Nursing Programmes' Base Points of Student Selection and Placement System and Average Score of Public Personnel Selection Examination Background: There are two separate central exams in Turkey to enter the nursing programs and employment of graduates of these programs. These exams overlap because of measure similar content based on the basic information fields. Objectives: The aim of this study is to compare the ranking of the base points of the nursing degree programs and Public Personnel Selection Examination (PPSE) point averages of graduates. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted with 113 undergraduate nursing programs in Turkey. The data sources of the study are PPSE Preference Guidelines and Council of Higher Education Graduation Achievement Atlas. Descriptive statistics were used in the evaluation of the data. Results: It has been determined that there are great differences between the ranking of the base points of nursing programs and PPSE average scores of graduates. According to the ranking of PPSE average score; the first 20 nursing programs were listed. Some of the nursing programs in the first ranking according to student selection exam base score did not enter at all in the list. Conclusion: The ranking of nursing programs according to student selection exam base score and PPSE scores is inconsistent. The integration of a nursing principal field exam in the context of PPSE would positively affect the quality of undergraduate education
