Türkiye'nin de aralarında yer aldığı pek çok ülkede COVID-19 salgını sebebiyle geçici olarak okullara ara verildi. Bu süreçte, eğitim öğretimin sekteye uğramaması için uzaktan eğitim programları ile eğitime devam edildi. Tüm dünyanın ansızın karşılaştığı bu salgın sürecinde, her ne kadar normalleşme adımları atılsa ve mevcut durumlar korunmaya çalışılsa da, pek çok kavram yeniden anlamlandırılmak zorunda kaldı. Ayrıca, salgın devam etse de gelişim döngüsünün sürdürülebilmesi için normalleşme adımları atılmaya başlandı. Bu kapsamda atılacak adımlardan birisi de okulların yeniden açılmasının gündeme gelmesi oldu. Bu çalışmada, COVID-19 salgını sonrasında şekillenen yeni okul kavramının altında yatan paradigma ve okulların yeniden açılmasının çeşitli boyutlarına ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerini ele almak amaçlanmaktadır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması olarak desenlenen araştırmanın örneklem grubunu 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında Afyonkarahisar il merkezinde çalışacak olan, çeşitli branşlardan 42 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmış ve içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular, salgın öncesinde ve salgın sonrasında öğretmenlerin sahip oldukları okul algısının değiştiğini göstermektedir. Ayrıca, öğretmenler okulların yeniden açılmasının sadece zaman olarak değil, çeşitli yönlerden değerlendirilmesi yönünde görüş belirtmişlerdir. Bu bulgular bütünsel olarak değerlendirildiğinde, COVID-19 salgını sonrasında eğitim ortamlarındaki paradigmaların köklü değişimlere uğradığı sonucu çıkarılabilir.
In many countries, including Turkey, schools were temporarily interrupted due to the COVID-19 epidemic. During this process, the training was continued with remote education programs so that the teaching did not enter the sector. In this epidemic process that the whole world suddenly encountered, although normalization steps were taken and the current situations were attempted to be preserved, many concepts had to be re-understood. Also, even though the epidemic continues, normalization steps have begun to be taken to maintain the development cycle. One of the steps to take in this framework was the re-opening of the schools. This study aims to address the teachers’ opinions on the paradigm and the various dimensions of the reopening of schools under the new school concept formed after the COVID-19 epidemic. The sample group of the research designed as a case study from the quality research methods constitutes 42 teachers from various branches, who will work in the center of the province of Afyonkarahisar in the 2020-2021 educational year. The research data was collected through a semi-configured interview form prepared by the researchers and analyzed by the content analysis method. The findings obtained in the study show that before and after the epidemic, the teachers' school perception has changed. Moreover, teachers have expressed their views on the re-opening of schools not only as time, but on the assessment of the various aspects. When these findings are evaluated in general, it is possible to find the result that the paradigms in the educational environments have undergone radical changes after the COVID-19 epidemic.
Schools have been suspended temporarily due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in Turkey as it has happened in many other countries. In this process, education has continued with distance education programs so that education and training would not be interrupted. In this epidemic that the world faced suddenly, many concepts have had to be redefined, even if normalization steps have been taken and attempts have been made to protect the current conditions. In addition, normalization steps have been taken to maintain the development cycle although the outbreak continues. One of the steps to be taken in this context is the reopening of schools. In this study, it is aimed to discuss the opinions of teachers about the new school paradigm shaped after the COVID-19 outbreak and the reopening of schools. The sample group of the study, carried out as a case study, is composed of 42 teachers from different branches that will work in the city center of Afyonkarahisar in the 2020-2021 academic year. The research data has been collected by semi-structured interview forms prepared by the researchers and analyzed by the content analysis method. Findings obtained in this study show that the teachers’ perceptions of school concept have changed after COVID-19. In addition, the teachers said that the reopening of schools should be dealt with not only in terms of time but also in terms of various aspects. Considering these findings in a holistic way, it can be concluded that paradigms underwent radical changes in COVID-19 outbreak regulation of education settings.
