Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilkokul öğrencilerinin okula ilişkin mutluluklarını belirlemektir. Bu araştırma, karma yöntem araştırmalarında çeşitleme desenine uygun olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada iki veri toplama aracı kullanılmıştır: Bunlardan biri ilkokul çocukları için okul mutluluğu ölçeği diğeri de görüşme formudur. Araştırma basit seçkisiz örneklem yöntemine göre Yalova il merkezinde bulunan bir devlet okulunda eğitim gören 3 ve 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin katılımıyla toplam 196 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlkokul çocukları için okul mutluluğu ölçeği aracından elde edilen bilgiler, SPSS programına girilmiş ve daha sonra ikili grupların karşılaştırılmasında parametrik tekniklerden bağımsız gruplar için t-testi ve betimsel sonuçlarına yer verilmiştir. Görüşme formunda elde edilen veriler, içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Bu araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyi değişkenine göre öğrencilerin okul mutlulukları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık çıkmamıştır. Öğrencilerin okul mutluluğu ile ilgili düşünceleri olumlu olduğu söylenebilir. Özellikle okulda arkadaşlarıyla vakit geçirdiklerinde, etkinlik ve sportif faaliyetlere katıldıklarında kendilerini daha mutlu hissettiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin düşüncelerine göre öğretmen ve okul idaresinin olumlu tutum ve davranışlarda bulunması öğrencilerin okula yönelik mutluluklarını olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Araştırmanın sonuçları doğrultusunda öğrencilerin okul mutluluğunu destekleyecek etkinliklere ağırlık verilmelidir.
The aim of this research is to determine primary school students' happiness about school. This research was carried out in accordance with the mixed-method triangulation design. Two data collection tools were used in this study: One of them is the "School Happiness Scale for Primary School Children" and the other is the interview form. The sample of the research was carried out with a total of 196 students with the participation of 3rd and 4th-grade students studying in a public school located in the city centre of Yalova. The information obtained from the school happiness scale tool for primary school children was filled into the SPSS program, and then the t-test and descriptive results for groups independent of parametric techniques were run in the comparison of paired groups. The data obtained in the interview form were analyzed by content analysis. According to the results of this research, there was no significant difference between the school happiness of the students according to the gender and grade level variable. It can be said that students' thoughts about school happiness are positive. Especially when they spend time with their friends at school; They stated that their school happiness increased due to activities and a fun environment. In addition, according to the students' thoughts, positive attitudes and behaviours of the teachers and school administration affect the students' happiness towards the school in a positive way. In line with the results of the research, activities that will support the school happiness of the students should be emphasized
