Futsal has had its rules constantly changed, which has brought technical-tactical and strategic implications, such as the emergence of new training demands, in particular to the goalkeeper. Game analysis features have been contributing to understand these changes and to adapt training to the new requirements. This study aimed to analyze the use of goalkeeper-line and goalkeeper-line in Futsal, comparing these two differents approaches and measuring its efficacy. This explanatory research, our sample was 10 matches of the 2016 Brazil Futsal National League, which we analysed throughout game analysis. The results indicated that the goalkeeper-line is used in the side plays and in the opposing pressures, with a certain balance between the stages of the game. Mostly, balls reception places are in and front of the goalkeeper area, and its use is independent of the momentary score of the match. We also noted high rates of passes mistakes and shots, but an low number of goals scored. We observed that the use of the goalkeeper-line is directly linked to the adverse result on the scoreboard at the second stage of the match. Its main place of reception is the right wing of the offensive side, and the outcome of the plays indicated a significant number of shots and no goal scored. The two strategies obtained almost none goals scored, which does not demonstrate effectiveness of these maneuvers and brings the need for more specific training strategy.
