Yavuz Sultan Selim döneminde Osmanlı sınırları içerisine dahil edilen Suriye bölgesi, 1. Dünya savaşında önce İngilizler, sonra da Fransızlar tarafından işgal edilirken, 1918 Mondros ateşkes anlaşması ile Osmanlı bu bölgeyi kaybetmiştir. İtilaf devletleri arasında yapılan gizli anlaşma Sykes-Picot ile Fransız mandasına bırakılmıştır. 1946 yılında bağımsızlığını kazanana kadar Fransızların himayesinde kalmıştır. Kurtuluş savaşından sonra Suriye ile Sınır meseleleri, Suriye’de kalan Türkler gibi sorunlar meydana gelmiştir. En önemli Sorun ise Hatay Sorunu’ dur. Türkiye, Hatay meselesini sürekli gündemde tutmuş, Hatay’ın Türkiye’ye verilmesi için mücadelesini sürdürmüştür. Bu çalışmada, Atatürk Döneminde Türkiye- Suriye ilişkileri daha çok Suriye ile yapılan anlaşmalar ve özellikle Hatay meselesi geniş olarak ele alınmıştır.
Yavuz Sultan Selim, the region of Syria, included within the Ottoman borders during the period. During the World War first was occupied by the British and then by the French, the Ottoman lost this area with the 1918 Mondros ceasefire treaty. The secret agreement between the opposition states was left to the French mandate with Sykes-Picot. He remained under the protection of the French until his independence was won in 1946. After the liberation war, the issues between Syria and the border have arisen like the Turks who remain in Syria. The most important problem is the Hatay problem. Turkey has kept the Hatay issue on its agenda and has continued its struggle to give Hatay to Turkey. In this study, the relations between Turkey and Syria during the Atatürk period were more widely addressed by the agreements made with Syria and especially the Hatay issue.

Turkey, have kept the issue on the agenda of Hatay, Turkey has continued to struggle to be given to Turkey.In this study, Atatürk Period Turkish-Syrian relations and the agreements with Syria and is especially more widely discussed issue of Hatay.
