Ara�t�rman�n amac�, be�inci s�n�f ��rencilerinin matematik hakk�ndaki inan��lar�n�n ve bu inan��lar�n cinsiyete g�re de�i�ip de�i�medi�inin belirlenmesidir. Bu ama�la bir �n �al��mada yazarlar taraf�ndan geli�tirilen �l�ek Sivas ilinde 14 farkl� okulda ��renim g�ren 750 be�inci s�n�f ��rencisine uygulanm��t�r. �l�ek matematik ve matematik ��renmeye y�nelik inan��lar, �z-yeterlik inan��lar� ve ��retmen rol�ne y�nelik g�r��ler olmak �zere �� alt boyuttan olu�maktad�r. Yap�lan uygulamalar�n sonucunda, ��rencilerin matematik ve matematik ��renme ve �z-yeterlik alt boyutlar�nda yararl� inan��lara sahip oldu�u bulunmu�tur. Di�er yandan, ��renciler matematik ��retmenlerinin s�n�f i�i pratiklerini otoriter olarak de�erlendirmi�lerdir. Cinsiyet farkl�l�klar� incelendi�inde ��rencilerin �z-yeterlik inan��lar� ve ��retmen rol�ne y�nelik g�r��leri cinsiyetler aras�nda anlaml� farkl�l�k g�stermezken, k�zlar matematik ve matematik ��renmeye y�nelik inan��lar alt boyutunda erkeklerden anlaml� olarak daha y�ksek puan alm��t�r.
