Quality of education is focused by all the stake holders as it is obligatory for the progress of any nation. Pakistan is also retrieving maximum efforts to get quality in academic as well as in professional dimensions of education system at all levels. The current research is an attempt to investigate the factors influencing quality of teacher education in teacher training institutes in province of Sindh, Pakistan. It follows mixed-method approach. Stratified random sampling design was adopted. Total of 501(300 teacher educators, 201 prospective teachers) respondents were selected from 30 institutes. Data was collected through three research instruments (2 questionnaires and an interview). It was analyzed through t-test, chi-test, and thematic qualitative descriptions. Research findings indicated that quality education is a dream without effective teachers. Their academic and professional qualification influences performance and achievement of students. In Pakistan, old traditional programmes are replaced with new innovative programmes in teacher education to meet the global challenges in teaching profession. Teachers’ role is also shifted from old structures and practices to advanced approaches in teaching learning process. Results also revealed that several factors influence quality of teacher education such as effectiveness of programme, curriculum, teachers’ competencies, expertisation, subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, learning environment and experiences, way of instructions, and use of ICT.
