The Holy Qur'an, the book of the Islamic religion, has a therapeutic value for its believers as a semitic scripture. This study aims to discuss the meaning and significance of Surah Al-Inshirah in spiritual counseling by examining its spiritual importance for individuals who have difficulties and problems. This is a theoretical study that benefited from the related resources about the issue. In this context, the sentimental value of the expression about expanding the chest of Prophet Muhammad will be talked about. The heavy burden the Prophet felt as he was upset about the unfortunate situation of the society he lived in and was not able to do anything to solve it was relieved when he was granted with the duty of prophethood. Although the Prophet faced insult and torture as a result of his duty, he still had to carry out his mission of providing the people with the spiritual support as the number of individuals who accepted Islam was increasing. At this point, understanding the significance of the surah for the prophet has utmost value to provide an example to people who are experiencing problems. In the surah, there are cognitive and behavioral ways of presenting information in making the process of expansion of the Prophet’s chest comprehensible. In the fifth and the sixth verses of the ayah it is stated that there is ease with each hardship, underlining that most of the time ease/relief has more weight than hardship in challenging situations. Echoing the importance of ease in problems cognitively has utmost value for spiritual support. Understanding that there is ease/relief for each difficult situation and evaluating the events in line with this perspective is a significant tool of spiritual strength in overcoming challenges. Moreover, in the seventh and eight ayahs of the surah there are also clues of spiritual support with respect to behavioral aspects. It is suggested that people start another task/turn to devotion when they finish a task, drawing attention to changing behavior for the expansion and relief of the chest /heart. That it is advised to turn to the Lord for everything in the last verse is an effective way of spiritual support. Turning to God strengthens individuals’ religious emotions and thoughts, enabling them to get through difficulties and problems. All these aspects point to the surah’s meaning and importance in spiritual counseling in guiding people to deal with their problems through benefitting from religious and spiritual resources. At this point, it could be asserted that presenting the surah as an example of guide for overcoming difficulties and problems in the case of the Prophet is a spiritual resource for the people.
