Hastane işletmelerinde, faaliyetlerin devam ettirilebilmesi için kullanılan ve kısa sürede paraya çevrilebilme özelliği bulunan çalışma sermayesi unsurlarının yönetimine önem verilmesi gerekmektedir. Çalışma sermayesinin işletmenin tüm varlıkları içerisinde yüksek bir orana sahip olması ve hastane işletmelerinin çalışma sermayesi tutarı ile ekonomiklik ve kârlılık arasında olası bir ilişkinin söz konusu olması çalışma sermayesi yönetiminin hastane işletmeleri açısından önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmada, kamu hastane işletmelerinde çalışma sermayesi ile karlılık arasında herhangi bir ilişkinin var olup olmadığını ve varsa bu ilişki düzeyinin ve yönünün belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma amacı doğrultusunda Ankara, İstanbul ve İzmir illerinde faaliyet gösteren kamu hastane işletmelerinin bilanço ve gelir tablosu verilerinden elde edilen oranlar yardımıyla çalışma sermayesi ile karlılık ilişkisi çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi ile belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Analiz sonucu ortaya çıkan modele göre, hastane işletmelerinin Aktif Karlılık Oranı ile Stok Devir Hızı ve Net Çalışma Sermayesi Oranı arasında pozitif doğrusal bir ilişki olduğu bunun yanı sıra Aktif Karlılık Oranı ile Nakit Dönüşüm Süresi arasında negatif doğrusal bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Alacak Devir Hızı ile Aktif Karlılık Oranı arasında ise bir ilişki tespit edilememiştir.
In hospital operations, attention should be paid to the management of the working capital elements that are used to continue the activities and that are able to be converted into money in a short time. The fact that work capital has a high proportion in all the assets of the enterprise and the possibility of a relationship between the amount of work capital of the hospital enterprises and economicity and profitability shows the importance of work capital management for the hospital enterprises. In this study, the aim is to determine whether there is any relationship between work capital and profitability in public hospitals, and if there is, the level and direction of this relationship. According to the purpose of the work, the interests obtained from the balance sheet and income tables of public hospital enterprises operating in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir have been tried to determine the work capital and profitability relationship with multiple linear regression analysis. According to the model resulting from the analysis, a positive linear relationship between the active profit rate and the stock turnover rate and the net employment capital rate of hospital enterprises has been found as well as a negative linear relationship between the active profit rate and the cash conversion period. There is no connection between the rate of return and the active profit rate.
Hospital enterprises are required to attach importance to the management of working capital elements, which are used for continuing the activities and can be turned into cash in a short time. Fact that working capital has a higher ratio among all assets of enterprises and there is a potential relationship between working capital amount of hospital enterprises and economy and profitability, reveals the importance of the working capital management for hospital enterprises. This study aimed to determine whether there is any relationship between working capital and profitability in public hospital enterprises and if there is, to determine the level and direction of this relationship. In line with the study objective, the relationship of working capital and profitability was tried to be determined with the help of the ratio acquired from the balance sheets and income statement data of public hospital enterprises operating in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir provinces, via the multiple linear regression analysis. According to the model obtained as a result of the analysis, there was a positive linear relationship between Return on Assets Ratio of hospital enterprises and Stock Turnover and Net Working Capital. Also there was a negative linear relationship between Return on Assets Ratio and Cash Conversion Cycle. However, there was no relationship between Accounts Receivable Turnover and Return on Assets Ratio.
