Abstract:

This study aims to identify the difference between the subjective assessments of patients with Septorinoplasty (SRP) and the assessments of their doctors from an aesthetic and functional point of view. Patients with primary SRP were called to check by telephone. The patient’s satisfaction was measured by the survey form. At the same time, the surgeons also assessed the patients in the direction of the shape and nose passage, unconscious of the survey answers. 35 patients participated in the study. The average postoperative tracking time was 17.42 months. The change in breathing from the nose was 3 percent worse, 20 percent the same, 48 percent better and 29 percent very good. When these patients were assessed by doctors, 6% were the same, 29% better, 65% very good. Nose shape changes were 5.6 percent worse, 2.8 percent medium, 51.6 percent better and 40 percent very good, while doctors were 17.1 percent medium, 51.6 percent good, 31.3 percent very good. Before the SRP operation, the patient's expectations will be well understood and the problems that may arise as a result of the intervention will be discussed with the patient and the patient and the doctor's expectations will be able to meet in a joint part.
