Problem Statement: İhsan Oktay Anar is one of the writers of contemporary postmodern Turkish fiction. Suskunlar is an arresting novel with its religious, historical, philosophical, sufistic texts and intertextual relations. His novel, Suskunlar, whose title derives from a graveyard behind Galata Mevlevîhanesi the lodge used by Mevlevî dervishes , tells the eternal struggle between Satan and God and Man in the light of the events that take place in Constantinople in the years following the reign of Sultan Ahmet III. It is obvious that İhsan Oktay Anar has meticulously worked on the narrative techniques he used in Suskunlar. The author has also constructed intertextual relations by drawing a tricky path from old texts to the new ones that he created. He has made the plot much more conspicuous with his creation of these new texts drawing on the Torah, the Bible and the Qur’an. Base of the Research: Textual and Intertextual Reading: Suskunlar.
