The poems called as “sagu” in the old Turkish poetry, “elegy” in classical Turkish literature and the “lament” in Turkish folk poem are mostly the poems which tells the sorrow and sadness because of his absence after someone dies and his goodness, heroism and generosity. In the history of Turkish poetry, 76 poems sung by the same person for a person who died are almost nonexistent. Yeniceli Sidki Baba, one of the leading figures of Alevi-Bektashi literature, expressed his feelings about the death of Şeyh Cemâledin Efendi in 76 different poems.The artist used the pseudonym “Sıdki” in his 18 poems and the rest of his poems were told by different people. In this article in which document analysis method was used first, the poems which Yeniceli Sıdki Baba told upon the death of his sheikh “Şeyh Cemâledin Efendi” then, it was examined which conceptions of Sıdki Baba’s death, Şeyh Cemâledin Efendi subjected was examined.
