The estimation of ethanol levels in autopsied cases carries a remarkable importance as it affects many medico-legal factors. Blood alcohol levels are affected by various factors depending on the postmortem changes. In this study, 1201 cases, which were autopsied in Muğla Branch of Council of Forensic Medicine between the years of 2013 and 2015, were examined retrospectively. This study focuses on the relation between the blood alcohol levels and age, sex, the type of the case, the correlation between blood and vitreous fluid alcohol levels, and factors affecting the postmortem alcohol levels.
