Özet:

Abstract The phenomenon of the accelerated growth of the Latino population in the United States has aroused growing interest in its approach by scientists from various disciplines. Among the least studied topics from the issuing societies, is the sociocultural problem of Latinos in American society, the processes of assimilation and/or sociocultural insertion into it, and the (re)configuration of their identities. In Cuba, only in recent years have some investigations been developed that address them under a qualitative lens. The study presented makes an approach to this problem, based on the systematization of works by Latino and American authors, and some results of research carried out in our country, providing the author's systematization based on the experiences accumulated in the study of the subject. for several years, for which a brief characterization of the heterogeneous Latino population of the United States was proposed based on some sociodemographic traits and socioeconomic indicators; he described the climate of intolerance and racism that Latinos are subjected to in it, the context in which they develop their identities; and analyzed the patterns of cultural interactions between the different Latino, Anglo-Saxon and other cultures in North American society- and the multiple identities resulting from these intercultural hybridization processes in which various differentiating factors intervene such as ethnic origin, social class, gender, age and migratory generations, skin color, and their transnational ties.
