Abstract:

The animal style has had an important place in Turkish art since its early era. The paintings of the shaped animal figure have been a form of decoration that is frequently seen in the scenes of handwriting works, especially on the sides of the page and in the miniature scenes. The paintings of the Simurg bird, which is the subject of these scenes and has different mythological characteristics within the animal figures, have been studied in the work of Fıraknâme. The work is subject to the myths of the Simurg figures in Fıraknâme, the paintings in the composition are determined. The paintings of the Simurg figures were assessed by color and decoration characteristics. According to the research, the Simurg bird drawings in the lower and upper skin cabin of the work, 1b in the shell of Hz. In the miniature scene on the subject of the Prophet Suleiman, he was seen in the glossary thesis in 10b, 13a, 20a, 29a. As a result of the evaluation of the symbolic characteristics of the Simurg painting in the work of Fıraknâme, Simurg, which is treated as a figure symbolizing goodness in the miniature of 1b, is placed as a symbol of power in a battle scene in the skin cabin. In public decorations, it was concluded that it was painted from nature and used as an element of decoration developed by the artist's design.
