Abstract:

İslam bilim tarihi alanında dünya çapında ismini duyurmuş bir ilim adamı olan Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fuat Sezgin, 24 Ekim 1924 tarihinde beş kardeşin üçüncüsü olarak Bitlis’te dünyaya gelmiştir. Babası Mehmet Mirza Efendi 1888 Siirt, annesi Cemile Hanım 1897 Bitlis doğumludur. Fuat Sezgin, ilkokulu Doğubayazıt’ta, ortaokul ve liseyi burslu ve yatılı olarak Erzurum’da okumuştur. 1942 yılında Erzurum Lisesi Fen Bölümü’nü pekiyi dereceyle bitirdi. 1943 yılında matematik okuyup mühendis olma isteğiyle İstanbul’a gelmiştir.

Abstract:

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fuat Sezgin, a scientist who announced his name worldwide in the field of Islamic science history, was born in Bitlis on 24 October 1924 as the third of five brothers. His father, Mehmet Mirza Efendi, was born in 1888 Siirt, and his mother, Cemile Ms, was born in 1897 Bitlis. Fuat Sezgin has studied primary school in the East, high school and high school in Erzurum as a scholarship and inheritance. In 1942 he completed the Faculty of Science in Erzurum with a great degree. In 1943 he arrived in Istanbul with the desire to study mathematics and become an engineer.
